What is the Women’s Giving Circle?
The Women’s Giving Circle is a group of special women who, true to the spirit of this historic area, want to make a difference in the community and the lives of its people through significant annual support of the work of your local Red Cross.
Who can be a member?
Any woman, or sponsored woman, who believes in and wishes to support the work of the American Red Cross. A sponsored woman is one who is named in the gift given by another — a husband, family member or group that wishes to honor a special woman.
What is a significant level of giving?
Significant levels would vary by each individual’s ability to give; however, for the Women’s Giving Circle, a significant level is an annual gift of at least $500. Giving levels are suggested at $500, $1000, $2,500, $5000 and above.
Do I have to give at the same level every year?
No, we recognize that personal situations change and you may choose to move from one level to another. A gift of $500 each year, specifically for the Women’s Giving Circle, is all that is needed to maintain membership.
What are the benefits to belonging to the Women’s Giving Circle?
- Knowing that you are making a significant difference in the lives of the over 10,000 people your local Red Cross works with each year. Often those men, women and children are in crisis.
- A sense of continuation of the strong efforts of women, so much a part of this area.
- Ensuring your Red Cross is a strong, responsive organization, able to meet the needs of area residents and the community as a whole.
- Semi-annual gatherings, just for you, at some great spots in the area.
- Regular updates on the work of the American Red Cross in the Finger Lakes , including testimonials, specific cases, thank you’s and notes of interest.
- Knowledge that you are part of something bigger—an international family of the Red Cross that works throughout the world to improve the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable populations.
